Ch 10, fasten off and weave in ends.
Assembly Instructions:
This part will take some personal creativity, and a little muscle, using a yarn needle and the 5” weaving needle.
The easiest way to sculpt the face is to do so before attaching the head to the body. *I suggest watching this tutorial by Stitches and Scraps before you begin.
(See images 33 - 38)
Pin the pieces of the face to the head before sewing them in place to give you an idea where the eyes and mouth should sit.
Using the 5” weaving needle, “pinch” the space in between where you’ll put the eyes to create the eye sockets and bridge of the nose. Tie off and hide your tails.
Next, insert the weaving needle under the nostrils and “pinch” in this space slightly to form the upper lip. Tie off and hide your tails.
To form the cheeks, insert your needle where the corner of the mouth would be, and “pinch” up two rows and over 4 stitches toward the nose. Tie off and hide your tails. Use embroidery thread or a darker green yarn and 1 strand of Caron One
Pound in Limeade to create his lips. Tie off and hide
your tails.
*fabric markers are a great alternative for
this step*
Attach the eyeballs first, then layer the eyelids on top of them, and sew them into place. Continue with the nose, nostrils, eyebrows and ears.
Attach the arms to the body. Add stuffing before fastening off if needed to form shoulders. Weave in the ends. Using the blsc stitches on the bottom of the head, and the tail left from closing the body, attach the head to the body firmly by weaving back and forth between the blsc row of stitches and the top of the body and pulling tightly to secure it. Fasten off and weave in your ends. Next, put on your ogre’s jacket, and then tie it closed with the jacket tie.
THAT’S IT!
